Hot Metal

Hot Metal

Held in 2003, at Bradford Industrial Museum, Hot Metal, the exhibiton which celebrated Bradford and District Motor Club, was so successful that it was followed up by Hot Metal 2 in 2006.

A classic exhibition of motorcycles from 100 years of champions from the Bradford and District Motor Club, the exhibition included TT Winners and World Champions covering three generations of champions from the Lampkin family. Bikes from the Jefferies family included one from David Jefferies. Other champions included C.H. Wood, Robin Appleyard, Malcolm Rathwell, Eddie Flintoff and many more.

From Applebe's win in the 1912 TT to David Jefferies' TT domination in 2002, from Arthur Lampkin's Scottish Six Day Trial win in 1957 to Dougie Lampkin's 2002 trials supremacy, the club has a rich heritage of producing champions both on and off the road.

On display at the museum were motorcycles from all periods and disciplines of the motorcycling world. It included a host of bikes from the motorcycling hall of fame with a number of photographs and film footage that has never been seen before.
