Hindu marriage of Nutan Ben and Vinod Patel, Bradford. On the eve of the wedding blessings are made at the home of the bride, Nutan Ben, in which she is flanked by her father and mother, whilst the priest (who sits in front of the television) overseas. The bride to be has leaves, which have been dipped in henna, applied to her feet, knees, shoulders, chin and forehead whilst herbs and spices are sprinkled in to a pan. The bride will also have her hands and feet decorated with Mendi (a form of henna).
