Southend Hall Sunday School. In 'The Making of a Mission' by The Bradford Wesleyan Mission, pub March 1911, pg79-80, the chapter about Southend Hall says: "Our Sunday School is fast increasing. A Junior Deptartment has been formed this year, by transferring 50 from the Primary Department, whose places were filled within four weeks by 80 new scholars. During the year the primary Department has been housed in the Institute, but this notwithstanding the Sunday School is overflowing into the Hall. A fine work is being done among the children. During January, six treats were held, at which 1,350 children were given a sandwich tea and an orange."
