'Kiddies-Own' Magic Lantern Show at Southend Hall. In "The Making of a Mission" by The Bradford Wesleyan Mission, published March 1911, pg 80, there is the following ... "The now famous "Kiddies' Own" is held every Friday, with an attendance averaging over 1000 - a fact which reverendeals its sustained popularity. Every Sunday Evening a Gospel Lantern Service is held, which has an average attendance of 500, having reached 600 on several occasions, while children have had to be turned away in tears for lack of room. The accompanying illustration will convey some idea of the number, and type, of children."
