Reverend Jonathan Glyde d Dec 1854
One of a collection of lantern slides entitled 'Bradford Worthies'. Rev. John Glyde became minister of Horton-Lane Chapel (Congregational Church for Non-Conformists) in 1835. He was pious, well-respected and worked tirelessly to improve the life of not just his parishioners but all Bradfordians. He was influential, inspiring others like Sir Titus Salt and William Forster to be philanthropic. He died in 1854, aged 46, allegedly from exhaustion from his ministerial labours.
