Transcription
During the First World War, Christopher Pratt & Co produced seaplanes. Example of women working during war time.
One of two Phoenix P5 Cork flying boats serial nos N86 and N87. The Cork was designed by Phoenix under a contract dated 1917 and first flew in August 1918. Ransom and Fairclough (1987) give a good account of the type and the same photo is used on p.110 with a different attribution (to a H. Bottomley)
