The Holowka Family

The Holowka family, Ukrainian, who lived nearby the Belle Vue Studios on Cornwall Place, off Manningham Lane, close to Bradford Football Club.

The occasion for the images was to celebrate the arrival of Mr Holowka's parents from the Ukraine to live with them, a rare occurrence which was celebrated in the Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Photographic portrait from Manningham’s Belle Vue Studio. One of approximately 17,000 images held within our archive, dating from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The studio was famous for photographing people from various community groups across the UK, including immigrant groups that moved to Bradford from the early 1900s until the studio closed.
