Watercolour portrait of David Little, solicitor

From John Sowden's notebooks:

"Was born in Scotland and was for some time with a firm of solicitors in Richmond, Yorkshire in the early fifties. Afterwards he came to Bradford as managing clerk to Messrs Tolso, Clough and Taylor. After the death of Messrs Tolson and Clough, Mr Little was taken into partnership under the style of Taylor, Jeffrey and Little in 1861. He was a very strong Conservative and Freemason and took a very active part in the election of 1868, Ripley v Miall, but identified himself more with the social life of the town than with political or municipal affairs. He married a Miss Patricksen. He died in 1891 at the age of 70."
