"Was born in London in 1854 and was educated at Clapton and at 14 commenced life in the firm of Brown, Davis and Halse of Love Lane, London.

He stayed four years and then moved to Manchester where he stayed 11 years with the firm of Theodore, Jones, Crawdon and Co. He left the firm and commenced on his own account in Bradford as a chartered accountant. In addition to his Bradford office he has a branch at Leeds and has two partners Mr Maisey and Mr S Dickinson. Mr Howard is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Bradford Royal Infirmary and of the Children's Hospital. He was chairman of the local branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Mr Howard is best known as a member of the Liberal Club where he was secretary from 1890-2. He has been chairman and organiser of the Saturday evening lectures and debates for many years. Mr Howard is a member of the Council of the Bradford Antiquarian Society and was the president in 1909. He was also president of the Bradford and District Chartered Accountant Student Association. Mr Howard is a Freemason, Pentalpha Lodge, a Rosicrucian, a member of the 99 Club and the Union Club, Bradford and a Land Tax Commissioner. In religion he is a Liberal Churchman.

Mr Howard married the eldest daughter of the late Mr Jeffrey Fasser(?) of Bradford and has issue one son and one daughter. Mr Howard was made a Justice of the Peace."
