'Mary Gregory was born at Thornton & was the daughter of the late Rev. James Gregory who was pastor of Kipping Chapel, Thornton. She was educated in private school & later in a large scool at Lausanne. Miss Gregory in conjunction with her sister carried on for some 25 years a private school which was most successfully conducted. When the School was given up Miss Gregory entered into Bradford public life & in 1897 she was elected on the Bradford School Board. For 14 years Miss Gregory sat on the School Board & in later years on the Education Committee. Miss Gregory was always interested in politics & the Bfd Women’s Political Association owes much to her help. She has been treasurer and president of the Association, receiving a handsome presentation on her retirement. She was also the recipient of a handsome present the ?. Miss Gregory was travelled much & her travels abroad have been utilised for the study of educational methods in other countries.'
