From John Sowden's notes:

Youngest son of the late John Greaves of Westfield, Manningham and was born in 1850 at West Brook Place, Bradford where his father used to grow apricots out of doors.
He was educated at the Bradford Grammar School and Highfield School Bradford. He was articled in 1866 to the late Alderman Joseph Dawson solicitor, Bradford. In 1872 he joined Mr Davison under the firm of Dawson & Greaves. On the death of Mr Dawson in 1875 he succeeded to the whole practice. In the same year he was appointed Steward of the Manor of Bradford and has held the appointment up to the present time from the late Miss Elizabeth Rawson, Lady of the Manor, the late Viscount Mountgarret and the present Viscount. In 1886 he was appointed Clerk to the Bradford City Justices an appointment which he still holds (1917). Now in partnership with his son under the firm of Greaves & Greaves.
Mr Greaves married in 1874 Miss J Brown and has issue 5 sons (1 deceased) and one daughter. He died in 1919.
