Research - known as Eliza or 'Old Betty'. Sat for Sowden on 4 July 1888, aged 68. Hawked buttons, tapes and needles for 30 years with her blind husband. Born in 1820, Grassington. When widowed she looked after and worked with another female coster/hawker - they lived together off Bolton Road behind the Duke of Devonshire Inn.
