Stannard, John

Portrait of John Standard (blind) age 29 by John Sowden, 28 May 1888.

Research - came to Bradford in 1876. From Kidderminster. Blind from the age of 16 due to smallpox. Painted May 1888, with his begging tin around his neck and a large board supporting two large books from which he read by the use of his fingers.
