View of Thornton Hall. The image is dated 1930. One of a series of glass lantern slides showing old halls and other Bradford buildings.
The Hall has strong connections to Bowling Hall, also owned by Richard Tempest in the 16th Century. By the 19th century the Hall was owned by Textile Manufacturer John Foster, who commissioned William Morris to create a carved fire surround for the hall.
