Building Seaplanes

Christopher Pratt the furniture company teamed up with engineering firm Phoenix Dynamo to make seaplanes during the First World War.

Armstrong Whitworth FK10, serial no. N511 An unsuccessful type, Phoenix built two under contract and they were completed in in early 1917. Two other photos that look to be taken at the same time appear on p.305 of Ransom and Fairclough (1987) and in Tapper O. (1988) Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft since 1913, London, Putnam. At p.77
