"Mr Mitchell was a native of Bradford and began his career as a clerk in the employ of the Third Equitable Building Society and was one of its secretaries for a long period. He was associated with Mr Charles Lund and Mr Ezra Naylor as joint secretaries and accountants and had been connected with the society for 52 years. He was closely associated with Carlisle Road Wesleyan Chapel. He died in 1910 at the age of 70, leaving a widow, five sons and three daughters."
