Transcription
This is a glossy black and white landscape image of a mungo and shoddy merchant. The man is using a machine or implement (perhaps a cutter) to work with fabric, some of which he is holding, others waiting around him to be worked with. The background consists of a wall of wooden planks with some of the paint stripping off. This print was taken by photographer Ian Beesley. Presumably identical to H.2024.4.365. Features in Ian Beesleys 'Through the Mill' as image 77.
