This is a colour photographic print made up of two images. The first is a view of a snowy forest, marked by trees and leaves. The second is a view of props in a mineshaft barely illuminated by light. It is signed by photographer Ian Beesley and dated to 2011. A caption at the bottom reads "The Drift -6 degrees/+20 degrees", possibly refering to the temperatures above and below the surface. This picture can be found in Ian Beesley's 'The Drift' on page 20, indicating that it was taken at Hay Royds Colliery.
