This is a colour photographic print made up of two images. The first depicts a snowy field with a group of trees in the distance. The second is a dark cave illuminated by a distant light on the wall. Some of the props holding it up can be seen. The two pictures share a similar focus on an object in the distance. This print was taken by photographer Ian Beesley. It can be found on page 19 of Ian Beesley's 'The Drift' as part of a section contrasting the temperature of the surface (-6) and the mines underground (+20), indicating that it was taken at Hay Royds Colliery.
