This is a glossy black and white photographic print of a colliery train at Bold Colliery in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire. A man can be seen balancing on one of the beams on the train in order to fill it up with water pumped in from a tank at the edge of the print. A second train and winding gear can be seen in the background. This was taken by photographer Ian Beesley in 1977. This image can be found in Ian Beesley's 'Life: A Retrospective" on page 142.
