This is a black and white photographic print of a worker at Hay Royds Colliery. The man is wearing a hard hat with miner's headlamp. He is standing amongst disassembled and miscellaneous parts of mining machinery inside a workshop. This image was taken by photographer Ian Beesley and features in his book 'The Drift' on page 52 with the caption "It's a tough business when it's not going right, machinery's getting old, always needing repair."
