This is a glossy black and white landscape photographic print showing the head and shoulders of two miners underground in kneeling position. Though there is not a lot of light you can pick out a few details - their mining lamps, high visibility clothing and the ceiling above them. This photo was taken by photographer Ian Beesley and features in his book 'The Drift' in p35, indicated that this was taken at Hay Royds Colliery. The two miners in the picture are called David Flack (a previous mine owner) and David Cook (the pit deputy).
