This is a glossy black and white photographic print of a miner standing for a picture at the surface of Hay Royds Colliery. He is wearing a miners headlamp and seems to be wearing a high visibility jacket. This print was taken and embossed by photographer Ian Beesley. Another duplicate of this print attributes this image to Hay Royds and to August 2010.

A caption written beneath the print reads 'We've lost five men recently, one went to pack bacon in a meat factory, ones got a pub, ones got some building work and anothers (sic) gone labouring in a powerstation and the best of the lot has gone to Hatfield Colliery."
