This is a glossy black and white photographic print of a misty scene at Hay Royds Colliery in 2009. A coal delivery chute can be seen depositing coal into a pile in the center of the picture. There is another pile of what could be coal, rocks or mud in the foreground, and the silhouettes of trees can be seen in the background. This picture was taken, signed and embossed by Ian Beesley, and can be found in both 'The Drift' (pp50-51) and 'Life: A Retrospective' (p143)
