This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder in which they are stored reads 'De Puy, Thackray Beeston Leeds 5th August 2011', possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

Though some other objects (mostly bits of machinery) are visible through the window, the main focus of the picture is on a sign reading 'Knee Fitting'. The then logo for DePuy and its affiliation as a Johnson and Johnson company is listed in one corner. There is something else in the opposite corner but it is illegible. The old logo features a red dot, which was the main logo of the company until it acquired Synthes in 2012.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements.
