This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder in which they are stored reads 'De Puy, Thackray Beeston Leeds 5th August 2011', possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This image depicts three large containers - the two in the background are empty while the one in the foreground is full of a white material. It seems to look like wool, wire or shavings, and could either be raw materials for production or waste materials from cutting or processing. A folurth basket can be seen cut off by the frame.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements.
