This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder in which they are stored reads 'De Puy, Thackray Beeston Leeds 5th August 2011', possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This image depicts a man closing a vault-like door to a small cube shaped compartment. He holds some kind of object in one hand and the door of the machine with the other. The man is also wearing ear defenders and glasses. A panel next to the machine reads Super-Clear - perhaps this is a cleaning machine? The man and machine seem to be the same as the ones depicted in H.2025.11.4.27.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements.
