This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads ' DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 5th/12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts two men wearing DePuy uniforms and glasses, one of whom is also wearing ear defenders. They are both laughing and smiling. More of the room can be seen behind them, picturing lots of machinery laid out in rows. A table is shown at the right side of the image with a metal container and some other object resting upon it.
