This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads ' DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 5th/12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts two men in front of a stack of shelves, both of whom are wearing DePuy uniforms and glasses. The shelves contain lots of boxes, all of whom have sheets hanging out of the sides. Unless these sheets are the contents, it is difficult to tell what is stored. A waste bin and machinery can be seen in the background.
