This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads ' DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 5th/12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing a DePuy uniform, earbuds and glasses holding up an analogue clock. The face currently reads 11:08ish, but it is not certain whether this was the actual time. The clock hands obscure some text, but you can still read Otley and a telephone number 07943-850927. Pipes connecting to machines out of the frame can be seen in the background.
