This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads ' DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 5th/12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing earbuds, glasses and a black DePuy uniform standing in front of a machine viewing window. While its exact nature is obscured by the frame and man's body, one can see water on the other side of the glass or plastic. A warning notice reads 'Have you SWITCHED OFF, Think!, SAVE ENERGY AND MONEY, CLIMATE CARE'. A logo on the machine reads 'AD'
