This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a workstation with tools and materials scattered about and hung up. Verniers, Plug Gauges, Screws, Grooves, Gauges and Widths are hang up on the adjacent wall, while a hammer, chisel, power tool and others are on the bench itself. 16 polished ball bearings are arranged in a grid. There is also a schematic of some kind on the table.
