This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image shows a man wearing a DePuy uniform and safety goggles posing with a machine in the background. There is a eye protection warning on the door (that the man is following), and lots of dials and knobs adjacent to it. A number can be prominently seen - 060 002 246.
