This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a workstation with lots of tools hung on the walls and scattered around the worktop. The labels for the tools on the walls are hard to read (though a pair of pliers and a timer can be seen hung up), but one can see a power tool, stapler and various circular metal objects. A lamp magnifying view can also be seen hanging in from the top of the frame.
