This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a workstation with tools on the walls and surface. Various pointed tools and a power tool are scattered on the surface, while the wall lists verniers, groove dia verniers, hole depth verniers, plug guides, wrenches, screws, gauges, grooves and widths. 18 finished objects can be seen, 16 of them lined in a grid.
