This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley.

A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

The image shows the contents of a workbench and tool rack. There are headphones, papers, pliers, a watch, and other tools on the tabled surface. On the wall rack behind are labels for a "bore depth device 1389, verniers 1754, groove DIA MICS 1068" as well as other tools on pegs. To the left of the desk is a sign reading "Shadow Board 12".
