This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing eye protection, a watch, a DePuy uniform and one glove holding some kind of object in between his hands. The camera is taken from in front of him, but his focus is directed down at the objects in his hands. There are lots of bottles and a metallic component on the table behind and a chair resting at the far wall.
