This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. A label on the back of the folder reads 'DePuy, Thackray. Beeston. Leeds. 12th August 2011, possibly referring to the DePuy Sythes R&D centre in Beeston.

This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man wearing eye protection, a glove and a DePuy uniform. He is standing in front of a machine of some kind while his arm rests of the top of the control panel text to it. His focus is directed toward a object/person out of frame. A number on the top of the panel reads '060 002 246'.
