This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a man working with a Quadra-chek machine. A large circular piece of paper with a rectangular section poking out is fitted to the frame. The man is covering up an interface presumably used to control the machine which also displays x and y coordinate information. A piece of paper in the top corner reads ''Please file all drawings away after use. Do not leave them on the work racks. Thank you." while another on the other side reads "Have you SWITCHED OFF. Think! SAVE ENERGY AND MONEY. CLIMATE CARE".
