This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a bird eyes view of a room. Two people in DePuy uniforms can be seen, one sat at a computer and the other caught mid-walk. 'Polished Shells Machining' can be seen faintly on a sign in the top right corner. One can see machines, a stack of boxes in the bottom section of the image, a trolley and a workstation in the top left corner.
