This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts two men wearing DePuy uniforms, eye protection and ear defenders. One of them is working on a machine of some kind while wearing gloves and an apron. He is facing towards the camera, so the machine shields whatever he is working on. Another man can be facing towards something out of frame. His activities are further obscured by the side of a window pain. Beesley's reflection can be seen in the image as well, serving as further evidence of this image being taken from another room through a window.
