This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts two separated windows providing a view of a different room. A man in a black DePuy uniform can be seen on the left talking to a colleague who is just out of frame. A central plinth with information displayed on it can be seen on the right, the top labels of which read 'In pursuit of excellence' and 'Plastics'. The back of a computer monitor can be seen directly in front of the right window. In the outside room, a plug socket, flammable waste bin and two pipe ports (with one having a tool connected) can be seen.
