This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image depicts a shiny metal circular object dangling from a ceiling. Beesley has used its reflection to take a picture of the room around him. One can see a trolley and a plinth just behind him, a computer in the background, many different types of machines and at least two people in DePuy uniforms. In the center of the image you can see Beesley himself, holding up the camera with one hand like a legend.
