This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a man wearing a black DePuy uniform and lanyard sat on his own at a table, possibly waiting for lunch or for a meeting to start. The chairs around him, all arranged in a row that includes his, are empty. A box resembling a lunch box rests on the table in front of him. Though much of it is cut off by the frame, you can see the rooms fire exit in the background. The clock on the wall reads 10:53ish.
