This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image shows five men standing in the middle of a room, though two of them are obscured by the men in front. One of the obscured men wears a brighter shirt while the other seems to be wearing all black (either their trousers or the DePuy uniform.) The two men in the front seem to be wearing DePuy uniforms while the final man seems to be wearing something grayish instead. All the other chairs and tables in frame have been occupied. The camera pans toward the ceiling, allowing view of the ceiling lights, air vent and sprinklers. A monitor can be seen on the wall in the background.
