This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.
This image depicts a man wearing a DePuy uniform, glasses and wristwatch working with some kind of machine or component. With one hand he holds a lever or a switch and with the other he keeps what that piece is connected to stable. On the wall close to him there is a wallet containing documents of some kind. This image is much more muted and darker than others.
