This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a man in a black DePuy uniform and glasses using a program on his computer. It is difficult to tell what program he is using exactly, but it is possible it is controlling the machine in the foreground. He also has something resembling a notebook in his back pocket. Another computer monitor can be seen in the background, but its monitor doesn't seem to be on. There are pieces of paper stuck to the windows of the office, though it is difficult at this distance to decipher what they say.
