This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a a wearing glasses, eye protection and the DePuy uniform, though the actual focus of the machine is on the interior of the machine he has opened up. There are three objects within that look similar in shape to screwdrivers, and the floor is made up of connected strips of material. I believe this machine is a Wet Blast Processing Unit, since you can barely pick out the edge of the window you can see from the front, as well are the two hand holes.
