This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This image shows a man wearing glasses, ear defenders and the DePuy uniform as he looks at the camera. Though blurrier than in a previous picture (H.2025.11.17) he is showing a small razor-like object to the camera. The cameras focus is on the man, but you can still see the machine he was presumably working at as well as the machines in the background of the rest of the room.
