This is a photographic negative produced by photographer Ian Beesley. This was part of a project called 'Thackray Remembered' (Thackray 2011) which was commissioned by the Thackray Medical Museum to document the closure of a Thackray factory which manufactured hip and knee replacements. It was taken over by the American company DePuy who moved production to China.

This shows a man wearing a DePuy uniform, glasses and a pair of ear defenders as he looks at the camera. He is holding a small razor shaped piece in his hands to show off to the camera. You can see the machine he was presumably working at and other machines like it in the background of the frame.
